This is one of my favorite projects. It’s clean and modern yet hints at the ancient. The descriptions of the stages the minerals underwent over the millennia are done with CSS animation of individual graphics.
The minerals page has images of the actual minerals and their chemical element. Hover over them, and a brief description of the mineral appears.
