Light Bulb Choice

LightBulbChoice.com began in 2007 when the HR 6 Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 was signed into law.  This Act established energy efficiency standards for light bulbs.  Though this is not a “ban” per se, it does made the manufacture or import of incandescent bulbs illegal. The first incandescent lights to depart were the 100-watt bulb next January 2012, followed by the 75-watt bulb in 2013 and the 60- and 40-watt bulbs in 2014.
